DUKES FARM, N.J. PHOTOGRAPHY LOCATION 2026
We highly recommend this location for photography. No commercial photography is allowed due to one horrible wedding party that vandalized the place and ruined it for everyone.
We used to teach here on Saturdays with the permission of the park, and the park canceled everything due to vandalism.
This is a good location for people with mobility problems. You can read more about what they offer here on thier website.

Based on 20+ years of real-life experience. NO A.I. – About me
While some elements on their website may be polarizing, I encourage visitors to focus on the photography and appreciate the potential for creativity.
PHOTOGRAPH ORCHIDS
The Orchid Range, located less than a mile from the Farm Barn Orientation Center, boasts nearly 2,000 orchids across about 1,300 varieties, featuring both tropical and subtropical species. This diverse collection showcases the beauty of orchids worldwide and is open to the public during seasonal hours, weather permitting. Doris Duke had a deep passion for horticulture, particularly for orchids.
PHOTOGRAPH THE MEDITATION GARDEN
The Meditation Garden is a serene environment. You may want to practice some of our Transcent photography techniques while here. That’s Pamela Goodyer’s meditative style of photography, where you commune with nature.
WATERFALL
2026 -The Falls is currently not running. They advise that they temporarily paused it to conserve groundwater drawn from thier on-site wells, which supply the lakes after they stopped pumping from the Raritan River.
So double-check with them if they turned it back on before you bring your tripod and your neutral density filter with you. There’s another small waterfall that you can photograph here, so you can decide whether to lug a tripod around through the trip just for that.
